This client has trusted Chalet to design and care for their property for many years. Large trees and layers of flowering shrubs and perennials sweep along the border of the property to provide a thick layer of privacy. In 2024, the home underwent a significant expansion that required detailed engineering for the property and collaboration between the home’s architect and Chalet. The property sits in a flood plain and the home addition required extensive grading and drainage improvements. The design required a new permeable paver driveway with a ramp and elevated approach to the garage with stormwater storage space underneath. The driveway renovation also required new stone retaining walls and a revamped planting scheme for the entire front yard. The backyard renovation included a large bluestone patio to accommodate a dining table to seat twenty people, and an outdoor kitchen for preparing meals. New layers of plantings were designed and installed to soften the edges of the new home addition and the large, elevated pool in the backyard. A Chalet maintenance crew visits the property twice a week to keep the lawn and plantings beds in prime condition.
